I love to read: mysteries, 19th century historical fiction, biographies of people who make a difference, and Christian books that encourage me to be a faithful, warmer, more positive and joyous person. I really enjoy learning, I'm curious! I love learning about history and other cultures, I love old black and white movies beginning from 1932, and Westerns from the 40's and 50's. One thing I don't do enough of, is attend live theatre/plays/symphonies.

Well tomorrow is my birthday and I just came in from doing what I do every year for myself at birthday time: massage and facial. Earlier in the day I had acupunture done at the Naturopath. So you see, today WAS about me!!! I'm glad to be here for another birthday and basically I'm healthy; just a few minor things to deal with, I hope! I like that I am drawing closer to God again. He is my rock and my fortress!

Book Review: The Vigilante's Bride by Yvonne Harris
I really enjoyed this book! It takes place in the 'western' 'cowboy' era and has a Christian foundation. It is good, wholesome, clean reading, and the story was easy to follow, romantic, rustic, and historical, all rolled into one interest keeping story. I look forward to reading other books by Yvonne Harris.

Book Review : Maternity Rolls: Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Disability by Heather Kuttai
I have just finished reading Maternity Rolls and found it to be story of honesty, faith, coping, trials, confrontation, and love. If we too are honest with ourselves, we've always wanted to know just how it is that a disabled person functions and just gets through life. Unless having experienced a similar situation, none of us could imagine what it would be like for a 6 year old girl and her family to face the struggles after experiencing a life altering accident and living your life in a wheelchair.
I thank Ms. Kuttai for this very frank insight into her life, her thoughts, her pain and frustrations, as well as the confidence, the self learning, assertiveness, love, and success as a woman, mother, wife, and athlete. I personally have gained insights into the life of a disabled woman. Our society obviously has a long way to go in terms of equality, so kudos to Ms. Kuttai for this enlightenment.
